Elliott Boots European Champion
The Ongaroring played host to the 35th running of the 1:8 Offroad European Championship. REDS Racing had the largest share of the market with almost a fifth of all drivers using the Italian engines.
Warm-up race winner Elliott Boots was able to take opening round of qualifyinng in front of Marco Baruffolo – winner of 2013 Euro B Championship.
Alex Zanchettin was able to TQ the fourth & penultimate round of qualifying on an increasingly difficult Ongaroring track.
Zanchettin set the pace from his teammate Elliott Boots, both were powered by REDS R7 Evoke, REDS 2104 pipe, REDS S manifold, REDS T5C plug.
Elliott Boots showed his consistency in qualifying never dropping out of the top 10 in a single run managing a single TQ and three 2nd places – whilst P2 man Robert Batlle TQ’d Q3 & Q5, Boots’ 3rd result proved better and thus gave him the overall top spot.
Elliott Boots is the 2015 1:8 Offroad European Champion, the driver renowned for his outright speed finally coming good to claim the first major title of his career.
He would end the reign of David Ronnefalk by leading home the HB driver by almost half a lap of the Ongaroring. In front of a hugely supportive Italian crowd Factory Team driver Alex Zanchettin would complete the podium in Sacile ahead of Davide Ongaro.
Congratulations to Max Mört who is Junior European Champion 2015.
We would like to congratulate the whole TEAM for their fantastic performance. Massive congratulations to Team Boots and Team Zanchettin. We would also like to thank all REDS Racing drivers and people who attended this amazing event.
